Gina K October release inspiration blog hop: Day 3

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to the final day of the Gina K Designs DT Inspiration Blog Hop were we hope to inspire you with many beautiful ideas for the sets released in October! As you hop through the blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each because we will choose a few random commenters and they will win a grab bag that could have anything from stamps to paper to embellishments!! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops!!

Today we are spotlighting 2 sets:
Merry Little Christmas Stamp TV Kit -yes, there are TWO stamp sets in the kit this month!
Holiday Tags (this is the One Free with 3, meaning this set is free when you purchase 3 or more stamp sets)
First up is my card using the darling snowman image from the Merry Little Christmas kit.  Love this guy!  Isn't it cool how the sentiment is swirled around in his body?  You may also notice that the background on this card was made using the words background stamp from Mistletoe Memories.  I stamped it repeatedly in Versamark and embossed it with white EP.  The sentiment and snowflake I used on the tag are from Holiday Tags.
Next is a pretty simple card using the tag and tiny penguin image from the Holiday Tags set.  I love how these tiny images coordinate with last year's set, Wishing You Joy.  The pattern paper I used is from Gina's Merry Little Christmas pack.  This paper can be bought by itself, or comes as part of the kit.
You can see the larger form of this darling penguin image on a card I made which is in the current Paper Creations magazine!  I couldn't resist using him again since he brought me such good luck the first time.
Don't forget, all the new stamp sets are now offered in CLEAR which is what I linked.  But if you prefer rubber, click on the What's New Section and you will see both options.
Check out all the amazing designs and inspiration:
Thanks for stopping by and here are a couple close up pictures.  Enjoy the hop!

Gina K October release inspiration blog hop: Day 2

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to Day 2 of the Gina K Designs DT Inspiration Blog Hop were we hope to inspire you with many beautiful ideas for the sets released in October! As you hop through the blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each because we will choose a few random commenters and they will win a grab bag that could have anything from stamps to paper to embellishments!!

I have to say, I LOVE all these sets!  Man, we have some talented designers. I was so inspired that I made a couple cards with each set, I will show a card today and later this week, I will show the rest.  My first card uses Deck the Halls.  I love the ornament designs and all the possibilities this set has.  I went very CAS with this one.  I stamped the ornament in red ink and the ornament topper was embossed with silver EP.  A couple silver pearls and some cord completes this one.
Next up, is my card using Simple Snowflakes.  I have to say, I am a sucker for all things snowflake AND circles, so this set is a match made in heaven!!   I couldn't resist making a circle card with this one.  I embossed the snowflake images with white EP, which turned out really cool on the turquoise cardstock.  The pattern paper is from Gina's Blizzard pack.
Lastly, my card using Mistletoe Memories.  I love the bold sentiments and amazing mistletoe branch combos Becky desinged.  Again, I went with the silver pearls and cord and the pattern paper on this card is from Gina's Winter Whimsy.

Don't forget, all the new stamp sets are now offered in CLEAR which is what I linked.  But if you prefer rubber, click on the What's New Section and you will see both options.

A HAPPY Friends with Flair card

Hi everyone!  I have a card today for the Unity's Friends With Flair.  You can check out their blog for a link to all the Unity card goodness posted today. I made this card awhile ago and never got around to posting it.  This card just makes me HAPPY (yeah, I crack myself up)!  I LOVE the fun pattern paper (by Jillibean Soup) and the little hand made flowers.  The sentiment is from Unity's kit, To the Moon and Back.
I made the flowers by die cutting scallop circles from pattern paper, hand cutting them into spirals, and rolling them up. The tag shape is from the Grommet Tags set and I added lots of silver pearls accents from Recollections -which I can't seem to find anymore, I fear they are no longer made!  If anyone has a source please let me know!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!  I'll leave you with a close up picture.
Card Deets:
Stamps - (Unity Stamp Co) To the Moon and Back
Paper - (Gina K Designs) White and Dark chocolate cardstock, (Jillibean Soup) Blossom Soup 6x6 pad
Accessories - (May Arts) Burlap string, (Prima Marketing) brown scalloped lace trim, (Recollections) silver pearls, (Spellbinders Paper Arts) Grommet Tags and Scalloped circles SM Nestabilities, corner rounder

Sweet Christmas Wishes

Hi everyone!  I have a quick and cute Christmas card to share using the A|Muse set, Cup of Good Cheer.  The darling striped pattern paper is from the My Mind's Eye, Winter Wonderland pad.  This is an easy design and uses up pattern paper scraps and some of the ribbon that we all tend to hoard -lol!
Above the stamped sentiment strip at the top I added a piece of 1/4" Scor-Tape and then dusted it with crystal ultrafine glitter.  You can see it in the photo, but it's super sparkly IRL.  Isn't this the cutest little mug?  I added liquid applique to the marshmallows and cut out a snowflake from a piece of pattern paper for the center accent.

Thanks for stopping by, I'll leave you with a close up picture.
Card Deets:
Stamps- Cup of Good Cheer (A|Muse Studios)
Paper - White and Cherry Red cardstock (Gina K Designs), "Winter Wonderland" 6x6 pad (My Mind's Eye)
Accessories - 1/4" organdy ribbon (A|Muse Studios), Ultrafine transparent glitter in Crystal (Glitter Art), Copic markers, Silver Gelly Roll pen (Sakura), 1/4" Scor-Tape (Scor-Pal), liquid appliqué (Marvy Uchida), border punch, 2 and 4mm silver rhinestones (Pizzazz Aplenty)

Paper Christmas ornament

Hi everyone!  I have a fun 3-D ornament to share today using Spellbinders dies.
**UPDATE: This 10 year old post is getting traction. This die set has long been discontinued!
You can find currently sold Ornament die sets HERE.
My project uses the new 2012 Heirloom Ornament dies and it was pretty easy to make.  To make the outer "ring" part, I nested and cut two Heirloom Ornaments dies - die #5 and die #4 (die #1 being the smallest). I then folded each in the middle and then adhered one side to another until it made the whole ornament -the outer ornament uses 6 pieces.
The center ornament was made the same way and also uses 6 pieces.  To decorate it, I die cut glitter cardstock with Create A Flake Four snowflake dies, cut them randomly and adhered.  I also added a bead of stickles along each outer ornament "ring" for extra sparkle.

I don't have any step shots of this ornament, but I took some from a similar project that shows how it's done.  These pictures are from an ornament that I used on a scrapbook page, so it was flat on the back and not circular like above, but you get the idea.

First you score the ornament in half.
Then you assemble assemble how many you want together and glue the sides together.
After gluing the sides together, you can decorate any way you want.  On the ornament above, I randomly placed snowflakes and trimmed off the excess.
After you decorate your hat pin the way you want, you can adhere it to the inside of the ornament by wrapping it with Scor-Tape and squeezing it tightly.
Check out the Spellbinders 2023 Black Friday Deals! They include several holiday die sets!!

I hope these gave you a visual on how to make these.  They are pretty easy to make and you can make new ones every time you change the color scheme of your tree!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!!

Stamp out Breast Cancer with A|Muse Studios

Hi everyone!  Most of you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Well, A|Muse Studios is having a MASSIVE promotion this month called Stamp Out Breast Cancer.  To help promote breast cancer awareness they are giving away 10,000 free "Fight like a Girl" stamp sets!
I love the sentiments and that gorgeous ribbon.  See that "push-pin" stamp?  That can be used to mark your calendar each month to serve as a reminder to do a self-exam, and reminders for doctor’s appointments.

The Fight Like a Girl Stamp set has a retail value of $18, but you can get one for FREE during the month of October, just pay $3 for shipping.

I ordered a set and I can't wait for it to arrive- I have so many ideas floating around in my head!  You can order your free stamp from consultant Chris Franco, here.

We're here for you Darsie!

Hi everyone!  Tragedy has fallen on my fellow Spellbinders and Stamp Simply Ribbon Store design team member, Darsie Bruno.
On Tuesday she was awakened in the morning by neighbors yelling that her duplex was on fire. The fire started in the other tenant's side of the building, but the firefighters had to go through HER side to put out the fire and they fought the fire from her craft room!  Thankfully Darsie and her son were safely evacuated and no one was harmed.   But she lost almost everything to smoke and water damage.  She is now having to muddle through the process of figuring out what to do, where to get furniture, clothes, food and all the basics we need daily.  Thankfully, the Red Cross just helped her find an apartment to live, but in almost every way, she is starting over.

As a community we're banding together to do what we can to support Darsie. Spellbinders created a PayPal button that allows donations to go directly to Darsie and her son.  And there are many more in our online community who are helping too.  I know that Splitcoaststampers has something in the works and I can update you on when it is announced.

Additionally, The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store will be running a separate fundraiser with the sale of the next shipment of Darsie's hand made decorative pins.  These are expected to arrive any day now.  The box of pins was in the house at the time of the fire, but they were all wrapped in plastic and boxed, ready to go to the Post Office.  She was able to get them out and believes they are OK.

Once the pins arrive, they will be added to the store and the FULL PURCHASE PRICE of each package of stick pins will be donated directly back to Darsie.  This collection of pins is called the Shabby Chic Collection and will be available in six colors, plus one Limited Edition Angel Set.  The pins will be $4.00 for each collection (which is set of 3 pins).
Here are some pictures of my favorites in the collection.  Remember, they are not in the store yet.
Here they are — Aren't they SO pretty?
Shabby Chic Yellow
Shabby Chic Teal
Shabby Chic Pink

Limited Edition Angel Set

STAY TUNED to Sharon's blog and/or The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Facebook Page to know when they are listed in the store.

Darsie is a true sweetheart, extremely talented and hard-working.  She inspires us regularly with her beautiful projects and creativity.
Now it’s our turn to give back just a little to someone who gives so much to us.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for any help you can offer to Darsie. Even a small amount is MUCH appreciated!

Stamp Simply CAS Christmas -treat bag

Hi everyone!  Welcome to another Stamp Simply CAS Christmas Wednesday!  Each Wednesday from now until Christmas, Sharon and/or some of her DT will show some quick and easy Christmas card designs.

Today I made a little treat bag!  I used a flat bottom glasine bag I bought at Michael's several years ago (from Martha Stewart), but you could modify this project to fit any little bag you have in your stash!

Starting at the top, the paper is from My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland 6x6 pad, which has a piece of Silver Mirror Cardstock die cut and glued to the bottom and a piece of velvet ribbon across the seam.  I then punched 2 holes through the bag top and threaded it with some 3/8" silver metallic ribbon and tied it into a bow.  The ornament stamp is from the JustRite stamp set, Noel Christmas Ornaments and I embossed it with silver EP, colored it with copic markers and added some rhinestones.  I attached it to the bow with some silver string.
It's impossible to take a decent picture of the silver mirror cardstock in a way that shows it as SILVER (it always reflects and looks gold), but trust me, IRL this is full of silvery goodness!
Now head on over to Sharon's blog and see what Christmas inspiration she has for you.  She didn't have a chance to make a card, but she DOES have some new amazing Christmas goodies in the store!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  I'll leave you with a close up picture.
Card Deets:
Stamps - Noel Christmas Ornaments (JustRite Papercraft)
Paper - White and silver mirror cardstock; Winter Wonderland (MME)
Accessories - Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments, Scalloped Rectangles; copic markers; silver embossing powder; silver/white metallic ribbon, 1/8" turquoise velvet, silver string, silver rhinestones
