Butterfly birthday wish

Hi everyone!  I have a card to share that uses the new and fabulous Spellbinders LF-006 Wonderful Wings die templates (available 8/31).  Sigh...  these butterflies are just stunning!  My card uses the second to the smallest sized butterfly.  The pattern papers are from the new Webster's Pages, Spring Market 6x6 pad and the sentiment is from Unity's, All Smiles stamp set.

This is short and sweet today, I am off to do some more yard work.

Before I go, I wanted to let you know today Splitcoast begins its annual Dare To Get Dirty week long challenges especially for Fan Club members!  I love these challenges.  I remember playing along when I first started stamping.  It made my day to play along with the Dirty Girl's challenges and have them comment on my card!
These challenges are a special perk for Fan Club members.  It's never too late to join in and participate - Fan Club membership details are right HEREI host a challenge on Tuesday, so be sure to check it out on Challenge Master Thread!!

Thanks for stopping by and here is a close up picture.

Some summer publication work

Hi everyone!  I thought I would take a minute and share a couple cards that have been published lately. I don't always have a chance to post about publications, but with recent announcement of Borders going out of business, it had me kinda sad and thinking about magazines.  Print media is so important.  With the influx of the internet, it's easy to find inspiration online, but there is something so special about bringing a craft magazine to the park and browsing it leisurely on a sunny day!  Am I right?!?

This card is from the Summer issue of Paper Creations.  This card uses the Ippity Stamps set A Little Buggy.
This next card is from the June issue of Crafts n' Things.  This flower and sentiment are from Verve's Dream Big set and the delish striped twill ribbon is from Stamp Simply Ribbon store.
And last, I wanted to share this card from the Summer issue of Take Ten.  These flowers are from the Gina K Friendship's Garden set.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

FTL150 Some sweet fruit

Hi everyone!  Today I played along with this week's Fall To Layout sketch (FTL150).  Can you believe they are up to 150 sketches?  That's a lot!!  Congrats girls on a job well done!
I took some liberty with the smaller bottom panel and used ribbon instead.  I inked up the fruit images in the Garden Fresh set to match the colors in the pattern paper.  I added some little gems and the ribbon is the new 1/8" taffeta from SU!.

Short and sweet today.  We are redoing our entire back yard this weekend as well as our entryway!  What HAVE I gotten myself into?  lol!
Oh, I almost forgot!  One winner of my papers and ribbon package didn't get back to me, so time to pick another winner.

Hello girlfriend

Hi everyone! I have a fun Ippity Stamps card to share with you today.  This uses the new set, Flowers +Friends =Priceless, which has such cute little flowers in it.  The sentiment is from Take Time to Laugh from Unity.  See that black scalloped border piece?  That is from the new Classic Scallop Edgeabilities die template.
You may recognize this card sketch.  I have used it before here and here when I was making housewarming cards for my real estate broker.  Hey, what can I say, I love this layout!

Featured Stamper card and some new goodies at Stamp Simply Ribbon Store

Hi everyone!  Don't forget to enter for my blog candy here if you can make a good home for some crafty goodies.  I'm adding even more ribbon to the pile!

So, I haven't had a chance to play along with the SCS Featured Stamper challenge in forEVAH, but when I saw we were honoring the talented Teri Anderson (Teristampsalot) I couldn't resist! I have had the pleasure of meeting Teri a couple times at CHA and she is a sweet lady for sure!

I cased her fabulous button card here. I changed the sentiment, the colors of buttons, added some rhinestone accents.  I used some green/white Baker's twine from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store to thread the buttons.  I admit, this was kind of a pain.  It took a long time to thread each button and get them in the right spot, but what a fabulous way to use up some buttons.  I think I could easily make about 1000 of these cards -lol!  How about the sentiment?  It's from the Vintage Chic stamp set.

And speaking of The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Sharon has added some new goodies to the store and has a little sale going on (lots of paper pads)!!  Check out all the new items on the main page.  I am sooo gonna get the new KaiseCraft paper pads Chapter One and Blae and Ivy and that new Sheer Pull Flower Ribbon (how cool is that?).  I can't help myself, I JUST cleared out some room and already filling it up -I am hopelessly addicted to paper and ribbon!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.  I'll leave you with a close up picture.

Passing along some ribbon and papers

Hi everyone!  So.... I placed a "small" ribbon order with Stampin' Up (cause I have a "tiny" obsession with ribbon), and when I received my fabulous package filled with taffeta and grosgrain and realized I HAVE NO ROOM FOR THEM!  How have I accumulated so much stuff in such a tiny area?  Come on, I know you're right there with me!

So I did some cleaning out.  I emptied 39 spools of ribbon!!  Sadly, about 1/2 were never even opened!  While I was at it, I also cleaned out some more pads of pattern paper.  The papers include some Stampin Up, Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey and a few others.   I thought I would split these up and pass them along to 2 new homes who can give them some love!!
If you are interested, just leave me a comment on this post and I will pick 2 names Tuesday morning.

Here are a couple pics I took of the ribbon and papers.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Celebrate in Style

Hi everyone!!  I have a fun card to share today.  I used a couple of the new Spellbinders Edgeabilities die templates, some bright colored pattern paper and a cutie dress form image from Celebrate in Style.  I had a lot of fun piecing this dress with the patterns.  After playing around 3 or 4 times, I stamped this one by mistake and love how it captured the wonky stripes!
As you can see in the close up picture, I used the edger die from the E8-002 Classic Bracket Edgeabilities to cut the pattern paper on the bottom layer and the decorative insert from the E8-004 Classic Ric Rac Edgeabilities set on the orange piece.  I backed it with some blue cardstock to make the design pop. These are very versatile, you can use them together, by themselves, or mix and match the sets together.
This will be a short post today, I have some new draperies to hang -lol!!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Card Deets:
Stamps - Celebrate in Style (Gina K Designs)
Paper - White cardstock, Splash 6x6 pad (Echo Park)
Die Templates - Classic Bracket and Classic Ric Rac Edgeabilities (part of the Summer release and available at the end of July), Reverse Wonky Rectangle Nestabilities
Accessories - twill ribbon, copic markers, pink rhinestones and mulberry flower (Pizzazz Aplenty)

The 411 on Edgeabilities

Hi everyone!  First, I want to thank everyone for your great response to my first Spellbinders Blog Frenzy post.  Your comments and emails were so wonderful!!  I had so much fun using those new die templates.  ESPECIALLY the new Edgeabilities die templates!  They are a brand new concept, easy to use (like all Spellbinders die templates), and VERSATILE!

Stacey and Kim made a couple more videos explaining them in detail.  This video shows you what they look like and how well they mix and match together:

This video demonstrates how to use the dies in many different ways:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to have a couple more cards using these Edgeabilities here in a day or two!

Thank you, Spellbinders Paper Arts, for sponsoring this contest!

Spellbinders is thrilled to introduce a new line of Edgeabilities® die templates! The new Edgeabilities come in sets of three, and include one Edger for beautifully detailed edge cutting and embossing, and two Decorative Inserts for sophisticated cut and embossed border lines.  Mix and match between sets for maximum versatility. The six themed sets combine for over 70 design options!  And you can learn more about our new Edgeabilities dies on this video:

I’m thrilled to share two projects using Classic Triple Scallop Edgeabilities and Tear Drop Circles Nestabilities® with you.

My first project is a Wedding Box I created by altering a clear box using my assigned die templates, GCD Studio pattern paper from the Ella Blue collection and a Gina K Designs image from the With This Ring stamp set.
Here is a close up of the decorative strip.
To make the decorative strip, I started by taping the Edger die template (this is the die with the long cut line) to the top of the pattern paper and lining up the Decorative Insert die template just below it.
After the initial cut, I kept the Decorative Insert die template in place and moved the Edger die template to the opposite side.
Once the first section is cut, you move die templates down the paper and repeat the process.  The Edgeabilities die templates were designed to easily continue the pattern to cut 12x12 paper.
Next, I cut and adhered small pieces of F-012 Precious Metals Foil to cover the Decorative Insert pattern.  I then embossed the strip (without the die template) using the tan mat 2 pieces of cardstock as shims.
Note: Be sure to adhere these to the BACK side of your strip and double check that the color of foil you want shows through.  Put the tan mat on the foil side.
This is what it looks like from the front.
Here are all the S4-344 Tear Drop Circles die templates I used on this project.

E8-003 Classic Triple Scallop Edgeabilities
MSRP: $19.99
DIE SIZES:
Edger: 1/2 x 8"
Decorative Inserts: Four Petal Flower: 3/4 x 8", Three Petal Flower 5/8 x 8"

S4-344 Tear Drop Circles Nestabilities
MSRP: $24.99
DIE SIZES:
1. 7/8"
2. 1 7/8"
3. 2 7/8"
4. 4"

My second project shows the Edgeabilities die templates creating a decorative bottom edge on a card.
I cut and embossed the bottom edge on my 5.5" x 4.25" card base.  Since the cutting edge on the Edger die template is very small, you retain the basic card size.
Next, I cut, embossed, and layered the S4-344 Tear Drop Circles and used a Dainty Doily stamp from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I think it's a perfect match as they are very reminiscent of doilies in my opinion!

See the official Spellbinders Paper Arts Get the Knowledge! Blog Frenzy rules.

Gina K June release inspiration blog hop: Day 3

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the final day of the Gina K Designs June Release Inspiration hop!  Today we are spotlighting the 1 Free with Three set, Bold and Beautiful.  This set comes free with any purchase of 3 or more stamp sets from the entire store!  Who doesn't love free?!?

Today is my sister's birthday (happy birthday Nicholle!) and I made 2 birthday cards just for her.  For this card, I used the butterfly image and used the fun pinks/blues and oranges in the Echo Park Splash papers.  I also used some little bling and a couple mulberry flowers to accent things and make it a bit more girlie.
My next card uses the same butterfly paired with some adorable Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup papers.  I colored the butterfly with copics and added another mulberry flower to the center. This is a pretty simple one, I just let the papers speak for themselves and guide me on the butterfly.
For even more samples of these new sets, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below.  Make sure you leave a comment here and on each of their blogs because Gina is going to draw two randomly chosen winners from all of the blog comments, and each will get a stamp set of their choice valued at up to $24.95!  Gina will announce the winners on her blog tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!  I will leave you with some close up pictures.  I hope you enjoyed this month's Release Inspiration Hop.  Have a great day.

P.S.  I get asked a lot how I arrange my little pieces of rhinestones.  Well, I lay them on my card and just move them around (with my paper piercer) until I like how they look.  I find it relaxing and have been known to shuffle rhinestones around for almost an hour!
Card Deets:
Stamps -Bold and Beautiful
Paper - PL Kraft and white cardstock
Pattern Paper -Echo Park Splash 6x6 pad
Accessories - Standard Circles LG and SM Nestabilities, white taffeta ribbon, mulberry flowers, stickles, rhinestones

Stamps -Bold and Beautiful
Paper - PL white cardstock
Pattern Paper -Jillibean Soup, Blossom Soup 6x6 pad
Accessories - Standard Circles SM Nestabilities, striped yellow ribbon, mulberry flower, stickles, rhinestone, border punch
