Gina K Preview -Day Two

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Day Two of the December Gina K Designs release!  WOW!  Weren't the sneak peeks yesterday fabulous?!?  The girls really outdid themselves and prepare yourselves for today!  We are previewing the amazing sets, Nesting and The Giving Tree.  The December release will be this Thursday at 6pm Pacific Time and you can join me over on the Stamp TV Release Party forum!

First up, I have a card using The Giving Tree, designed by Theresa Momber.  What an amazing set!  Can you believe I have NO stamp sets with a versatile tree?  Well I do now and I LOVE it.  My favorite tree is the Oak, and I love little oak tree leaves in this set.  I made this tree with full on green leaves, but wait until you see it with "fall colors".  Beautiful.
My next card uses the Nesting set, designed by Asela Hopkins.  This is a set of 5 stunning images with 3 word sentiments.  This is the perfect set for all you nature lovers.  I used the butterfly image and colored it with copic markers.
I used this week's Fall To Layout for the sketch on this one.  Here is a picture of the inside:
Like what you have seen so far?  Like last night, Gina will be giving away two of each of these sets being previewed tonight!  Just leave a comment on each of the participating designer's blogs listed below and Gina will randomly choose FOUR winners from ALL of the comments! Gina will announce the winners tomorrow night, on her Blah Blah blog just before preview day 3.  One comment per blog please.
I'll leave you with a couple closeup pictures.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you Thursday night at the release!

Gina K previews -Day one!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to my first Gina K Designs release!  Today is the first day of previews and I am excited to share samples of the two sets we are previewing, Mugs and Kisses and Blocked Greetings.  The December release will be this Thursday at 6pm Pacific Time and you can join me over on the Stamp TV Release Party forum!

My first card uses Mugs and Kisses, which is designed by Melanie Muenchinger, and oh man, is it a fun set with tons of possibilities!  I loves me some coffee, so this set is right up my alley.  I colored the mug lightly with a copic marker and used some glitter around some edges for extra sparkle.
My next card uses Blocked Greetings, which is designed by Tami Mayberry. The block stamps fit perfectly into the square nesties (or you can cut yourself) and comes with sentiments for any occasion!
Can you tell I have been on a shabby hand dyed seam binding ribbon kick lately? You may even see some more on my other release cards!

Like what you have seen so far?  Gina will be giving away two of each of these sets being previewed tonight!  Just leave a comment on each of the participating designer's blogs listed below and Gina will randomly choose FOUR winners from ALL of the comments! That means you have lots more chances to win free stamps! Gina will announce the winners tomorrow night, on her Blah Blah blog just before preview day 2.  One comment per blog please.
I'll leave you with a couple closeup pictures.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow for Preview Day Two!!

I used the yummy Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather 6x6 pad AND the amazing co-branding stamp set from Unity called, Mitten Weather Icons.  The sentiment and background snowflake image are from Merry and Bright.  Don't these adorable ornaments look good hanging from Baker's Twine?  Isn't it cool how Unity is doing stamp sets that coordinate with designer lines?  Sigh... I do love me some Unity!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Card Deets:
Stamps - Merry and Bright, Mitten Weather Icons
Ink - Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand and Basic black

A sketch card and a winner!

Hi everyone!  I have a sketch card to share today.  I saw this sketch on JenMarie's blog last week and HAD to play along!  It's from Limelight Papercrafts, I am 2 days late to enter the challenge, heehee, typical right?  Anyway, I was drawn to and REALLY wanted to use a shaped sentiment panel, but I couldn't get it to work.  Oh well, next one -lol!
I used a gorgeous sentiment from Verve's new set, Richly Blessed and I paired it with the rich papers from K&Co Glad Tidings die cut card making pad.  This card is pretty simple, first I trimmed off the scalloped bottom of the pre-made card, cut up some scraps for the bottom (I trimmed the papers carefully to show that amazing cardinal) and tied Burgundy wrinkled ribbon into a double bow.  The flower is an ivory cherry blossom from Wild Orchid Crafts.
You can purchase the papers and ribbon at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store as part of a kit, or as separate items.

In honor of Gina K, I thought I would share a couple cards I have made over the years using her amazing stamps!  Here goes a trip down memory lane....

From August '08: I made this card with Just So Hippy! for one of my August '08 Dirty Dozen projects, the theme that month was All That Glitters.
From October '08: A Christmas card I made using Magic of Christmas and one of Taylor's old sketches (TECC39).

From March '08: Here is a Mother's Day card using Framed Flowers.  I actually won this set from a release party challenge (remember that Carolyn?)!
From October '08: Last, but not least, a trio of Christmas cards that use images from A year of Flowers and Magic of Christmas.  The Dove card on the right was published in Paper Creations Magazine, the Winter 2009 issue!
Here is a NEW card for Gina K's current release challenge #1, to use things with odd numbers. I used 3 flower blooms, 3 rhinestones on the circle and 3 rhinestones on the branch flowers.  The birdie is from  Home Tweet Home.
So thank you Gina for the years of inspiration!  I am so happy you have invited me to be a part of your design team family!

With taking on the responsibility of this new design team, I had to make some tough decisions, and have a couple changes to announce:

I have stepped down from the Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful team.  I am so glad I got the chance to design with these fabulous ladies and regardless of how short my term was -it was an honor!!
and
I have decided not to sell Ippity Stamps anymore.  Yes, I am handing in my "Ippity Chick" card -lol!  All kidding aside, this was such a difficult decision as you ALL know my love for all things Unity/Ippity.  But, alas, there are only so many hours in the day, right?  So, I have an Inventory Reduction sale on all of my current inventory and as things wind down, I expect to offer my remaining inventory at deeper discounts.  Now's the chance to get those sets you have always wanted!

Well, that's it for today.  Once again, thank you all for stopping by and sharing my news!  Have a great day!

Quick and easy Christmas cards

Hi everyone!  I have a couple quick and easy cards to share.  I made these using the fabulous K&Company Glad Tidings Grand Adhesion stickers and the Glad Tidings Cardmaking Pad!  All you need to make these are some 1/4" silk ribbon, corner rounder and a 1 1/2" circle punch, rhinestones and some sentiments.  I used various sentiments from Verve Stamps (can't go wrong with Julee's fonts!).

I liked the cute layout so much I made another card with some MME papers and another Verve sentiment from the new Friendly Phrases set.
You can find the supplies for the Christmas cards at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!  You can get items in a Kit, or as individual items.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

P.S.  I found this layout from a sketch challenge blog, but after I printed out the sketches I realized they didn't have their name on them!

Stamps - Ornamental Christmas, Friendly Phrases, Glad Tidings
Ink - black
Paper - cream cardstock, Glad Tidings pattern paper (K&Co)
Accessories - 1/4" burgundy silk ribbon, rhinestones, Glad Tidings Grand Adhesion Stickers, circle and corner rounder punch, heart nestabilities, Tiny Twinkles (Taylored Expressions)

A couple challenge cards

Hi everyone!  I am nursing a horrible sore throat, so I just had to sit down and make cards, right?  Any excuse -lol!  I have a couple challenge cards to share today.

This card is for Gina K's release party challenge #2. A sketch challenge, my favorite kind!!  The boy and girl image is from the set, The Journey and the sentiment is from Fine Furnishings Additions. I colored the image with copic markers.

AND see that fun ribbon? I got it from an Etsy store!  It was actually the wrapping ribbon from my purchase! Love it when I can reuse packaging!!  The pattern paper is from Webster's Pages, Restoration and the rose is from Prima's Fairytale Rose Coral collection.
Next is a card for this week's Fall to Layout (FTL115). I used Verve's Winter Mittens and Holiday Phrases. I LOVE this sketch cause I got to use more of my snowflake sequins (from the Blizzard Mix)! I pieced the mittens, added silver stickles on the cuff. and put silver pearls in the center of my snowflakes!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday!!

Card Deets:
Stamps - The Journey, Fine Furnishings Additions
Accessories - oval, circle and blossom nesties, bling, top note die (SU!), Fairytale Rose in Coral, hand dyed ribbon
