Raspberry color challenge #15

Hi everyone! I took a small break today from redoing my boy's play room while they are with my mom this week! I'll take a couple pics to post, but it is BRIGHT! I painted the walls Green Galore and Ballet Blue (anyone else think in terms of SU or PTI colors?)!! I seriously thought my sister was going to PASS OUT when I opened the paint can -LOL!! The accents are all Yo-yo Yellow and Real Red -FUN FUN FUN!
Anyway, on to my challenge card. This is for Dawn's Raspberry Color challenge #15. The colors this week were Spring Moss, Melon Berry, Pink Hibiscus and cream. By now, I have almost all the PTI colors in cardstock, but very little in ink or DP. So I found that a way to get custom DP is to emboss the cardstock in clear! Presto!

This card uses the dotted background from Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds. I stamped it on Melon Berry and embossed it in clear. I used it as a strip at the bottom and used the smallest blossom dies on it too. The bloom on the left has a circle of cream that I distressed a bit and randomly dragged the edges in versamark and also embossed in clear.

I stamped the stems and leaves with Verve's Thankful Blossoms set (my go to for these!) and the sentiment is from Verve's Fluttering By. The center buttons and Kaiser pearls are from Heidi's store (Pinkhedgehog Papercrafts).

Oh and P.S. see the embroiderary floss I used on the buttons? I made a total SCORE at the Goodwill yesterday and found an entire craft box filled with different colors for $2!! Woot!

Before I head back to the playroom, I wanted to mention that Verve's Project Parade is going on right now! Stop by and see what the Divas have cooked up as a Hostess Gift! Thanks for stopping by, see you later in the week.

Card Deets other than mentioned above:
Paper - vintage cream, spring moss, melon berry, hibiscus burst, spring moss bitty squares and dots
Accessories - Hibiscus burst bitty dotted satin (PTI), Upper crest border punch (Fiskars), circle nesties, sewing machine (yes, again!)

Cupcake Inspiration challenge #21

Hi Everyone! It's Sunday and time for another delicious cupcake inspiration challenge from Hope Stamps Eternal! Check out the yumminess this week... Yep, those are hot air balloons and fluffy clouds with silver linings!! I took my inspiration directly from the fabulous hot air balloons and aren't my favorite silver pearls from Michael's perfect from the silver lining? OF COURSE I had to use Verve's Up Up and Away set (the sentiment is from Circular Sayings), how could I not!?! LOL!

The designer paper is from the new Cosmo Cricket mini deck, Earth Love. I thought the paper with butterflies and their cute trails would be PERFECT for the background of the balloon. I pieced the balloon using the striped paper, some basic gray paper, and a small piece of the blue/green DP. Once again I used my fav border punch Upper Crest and the ribbon is PTI Aqua Mist satin.

Everyone is invited to play along in the challenge!! If you do, be sure to link your creation to Mr. Linky on the HSE blog. Every week, Rach highlighs the top 5!! Congrats to last week's Top Picks, who are posted on this post (I will update the link in the morning after Rach posts it). If you upload to SCS or PCP, be sure to use keyword: CIC21.

Thanks for stopping by. Now head on over to my fellow HSE Sweetie's cards and see how they rocked those cupcakies!!

Rome wasn't built in a day...

... and neither are MY CARDS!! LOL!!

Hi everyone! I have a couple sketch challenge cards to share today. This first card uses Mercy's Tuesday sketch #35 and Verve's new coffee set, Delightful and Delicious.

I thought I would show you a pic of my crafting area after I made this card. It took me FOREVER! Seriously, all night. Coffee? Tea? Which color? Where to place the cups on the image panel? Look at this---->

I tried lots of ribbons, stamped and cut out the cups colored in various colors. I don't know if you can see, but when I am stumped on how to arrange images on a panel, I trace it out with a pencil on scratch paper and practise stamping stuff on it (on the lower right corner of stuff).

Soooo, here's how the card ended up! I like how it turned out. I used some of the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird. YUMMY!

AND I was just reading my girl Jodi's blog and she mentioned her new obsession is Cosmo Cricket - well, ME TOO! LOVE this stuff! I think the color palette with Early Bird are perfect for coffee/tea/kitchen type cards!

I stamped the sentiments and cup in SU Chocolate Chip. I have found that I can use Copic markers with SU dye ink. Cool!!

This next card is part of the week long celebration of sketches going on at the MojoMonday sketch blog. This one is MojoMaria turned on it's side. I am still a bit iffy on this -specifically my horizonal pattern paper choice, but it's glued down now, so I guess it stays!

The cutie image is Miss Ayna Dressy from The Greeting Farm. I colored her with copic markers with some light sponging and used some more of my Basic Grey Lemonade paper. The bottom panel was punched with the Upper Crest border punch (another one of my current obsessions).

Oh and while I was snapping a picture of my stamping area, I took one of my Copic Marker storage. I use one of the Desk Organizer Cube pieces from Making Memories. Instead of using the 2 organizer baskets that came with it, I put in 2 clear bookends from IKEA and just slide my markers right in on their sides. I have them separated into 3 color categories. I can fit SOOO MANY using this method. I think I could actually fit every single Copic marker in this cube (I WISH I had every single one!)!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Card Deets:
Stamps: delightful and delicious
Paper: ridinghood red, white, early bird DP, more mustard
Ink: chocolate chip, more mustard for sponging, close to cocoa for steam
Accessories: Upper Crest border punch, blossoms and rectangle nesties, silver pearls, copic markers

Stamps: Miss Anya Dressy
Paper: White, Lemonade
Accessories: Black gingham, silver pearls (Michael's), upper crest border punch (Fiskars), corner rounder, copic markers

The Inka Fairy came! AND some sketch cards

Hi everyone! Awhile ago, I entered a contest over at the Spotted Canary site and WON!! I'm even mentioned on the Home page as one of the 5 winners!! The Spotted Canary site is a forum/gallery/community sponsored by EK Success, Inkadinkado and K & Company. Well, last week my prize goodies arrived and check out these!! The paper pack is K & Co Que, Sera Sera, the clear stamp sets are Inka Heartful of Love, All Hallow's Eve, Gem Stone Birds and the wooden stamps are super cute shilouettes! Oh thank you Spotted Canary! AND, they have another contest going on right now -so you can check it out if you want. It's called Back to School Kids Crafts.

This first card uses some of the new Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly Chipboard shapes and paper from the Jolly by Golly mini-deck (Rachel is sold out of the paper, but it was shipped today, so check back to the store soon)! LOVE this paper and LOVE this chipboard!!

I have to say this chipboard has really good adhesive and comes apart really clean compared to Basic Grey chipboard. Don't get me wrong, I love my Basic Grey chipboard stickers, but the paper backing tears a bit and you need additional glue to make it stick. NOT the case with Cosmo! Oh be still my little heart!!

The layout is from this weeks CPS129 sketch. I LOVED the 3 little panels on top of the horizonal piece (which I used as ribbon). The sentiment is one of many cute ones from Verve's Ornamental Christmas set.

My next card started out as the Mojo100 sketch. Can you believe Julee has done 100 Mojo Skeches?!? I can't even design ONE!! LOL! You can check them all out at the MojoMonday Blog.

I just found some Amercian Crafts Thickers at Big Lots (for $2 each!) and really wanted to use a frame piece for the sketch. The pack is from the Wine color collection and was a PERFECT match to my Que, Sera Sera! Woot! BUT, the frame was a touch too big for the circle behind it, so I left it off. So, techincally this doesn't qualify for Julee's sketch!

I stamped the adorable shoe from Express Yourself and embossed it in black. Then I stamped one of the corner flourishes and then place the frame carefully to show just a bit. I decorated the frame a bit with some silver cord, Zva Felt flowers, and silver pearls from Michael's.

Thanks for stopping by! I am just crazy about today's SCS sketch and the week's Mojo sketches, so look for some more sketch cards from me! Have a great Wednesday.

Card Deets:
Stamps - sentiment from Ornamental Christmas
Paper - Jolly by Golly DP, white, Prism paper Rose Medium
Accessories - silver cord, silver pearls, cream grosgrain, corner rounder, Jolly by Golly chipboard stickers

Stamps - Express Yourself
Paper - Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Que Sera Sera, white
Accessories - silver cord, silver pearls, double stitched purely pomegranite ribbon, Chipboard Thickers in Wine, swiss dots EF, Zva felt flowers

JustRite Christmas Blog Hop!!

Hi everyone and welcome to the JustRite Christmas release Blog Hop!! I am so thrilled to be invited to play along. I have several cards to share using the super cute set, Merry Little Christmas Borders and Centers. What a fun and versitile set!!

First up, a simple card designed almost to look like a present with a lovely sentiment tag. The DP is Basic Grey, Wassail. I colored the striped border with copic markers. A couple red rhinestones and silver cord add the finishing touches.
Next we have a CAS card using the snowflake image. I am always looking to make CAS Christmas cards (as well as the intriquite ones) -it's all about time management! The snowflake was colored with a light blue copic, silver Sakura gel pen and each have stickles on the tips and a clear rhinestone in the center. AND isn't the sentiment the cutest? Here is one thar uses the adorable santa hat and I again used the lovely Merry Christmas sentiment. I added some dots of liquid applique to the trim, I didn't put it on too thickly as it is a small image. The pattern paper is the newly released Polar Express by Imaginisce.
And last, but not least, a VERY non-traditional Christmas card. I had alot of fun with this one and turned one of the center and borders as part of a flower bloom! It's kinda sorta Christmas-y in that the pattern paper is Basic Grey Figgy Pudding! LOL! Oh and notice the sewing? I almost sewed a straight line -bwahaha!
Well, thanks for stopping by, I had a blast and a BIG thank you to Kellie and Kathy for inviting me to be a part of this Blog Hop!!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge -20

Hi Everyone! It's Sunday and time for another delicious cupcake inspiration challenge. Check out the yumminess this week...Sadly, I didn't have any time to make a card for this challenge. My little one has been pretty sick since Thursday and I couldn't get to it.

BUT, I do have a couple winter cards to share. This first card uses some of the NEW Imaginisce winter line, Polar Express!! LOVE the fun bright glittery colors in this collection. This cute polar bear was colored with copic markers (as was the shading around him). Check him out, the stamp is part of the Snag 'em line and only $1!! I used my Upper Crest border punch for the bottom and the sentiment is from Verve's Snow Wonderful set.

This next card uses one of the Miss Ayna images from The Greeting Farm. She is the Snow image from the Rain, Snow, Shine set. I colored her with copic markers and added some liquid applique to her trim -tooo cute! AND, see that background paper? I made it by stamping an image from Technique Tuesday, Casablanca repeatedly to form that pattern and embossed with clear. BTW, it took me hours of trying different combinations to come up with that pattern!!

The felt flower and holly are from Creative Cafe which I found at my LSS (the only place I have been able to find them!). Some heavenly silver pearls and silver cord finish things off.

Everyone is invited to play along in the challenge!! If you do, be sure to link your creation to Mr. Linky on the HSE blog. Every week, Rach highlighs the top 5!! And if you upload to SCS or PCP, be sure to use keyword: CIC20. Thanks for stopping by. Now head on over to my fellow HSE Sweetie's cards and see how they rocked those cupcakies!! We have a special guest Sweetie this week, Maureen! Welcome Maureen, we're so glad you played along with us!!

Final day of Verve peeks and RELEASE DAY!

Hi everyone! I am so excited! Today is the final peeks for Verve's anniversary release. AND I'm REALLY excited about the 2 sets peeked today, Delightful and Delicious and A Cup of Life. They are COFFEE AND TEA sets! Done with the Verve style that only Julee can create. I have to say, MY FAVORITES of the month! There are some amazing projects posted on the Verve blog using these sets, be sure to check them out.

Here is a peek of my card posted there.

I have a couple other cards to share using these sets. This first one uses the A Cup of Life and Bountiful Backgrounds. I colored of the teapot and cup with copic markers and popped up the cup. The bottom portion is made by embossing the polka dotted bg stamp (from bountiful backgrounds) with clear EP on kraft.

Some silver pearls (from Michael's) help show off the images. I used a combination of bashful blue and PTIs dark brown DSP -I just love blue and brown, so rich!

This next card uses the Delightful and Delicious set AND some of my new K&Co DP, Que Sera Sera (which I won from a contest over at the Spotted Canary). The butterfly is part of the paper, so I carefully trimmed the piece to place it at the top corner and added the Zva rhinestone flourish for the tail. I continued the rhinestone swirls for the coffee steam. The flowers were colored with copic markers to match.

AND, YES! That's stitching you see around the card. I finally busted out my clunker machine and jumped on the sewing bandwagon. I AM NOT a sewer, so you will probably only see white thread and crooked stitches -LOL!!

Don't forget about all the Diva Giveaways going on in the Verve Forums on SCS there's lots of chances to win Verve prizes! My game is a word game of sorts and is sooooo fun!! There is STILL time!!

The Release party is tonight at 5pm Pacific over in the SCS Verve Forum! See you there!

AND I also wanted to mention that there is NEW 6x6 COSMO CRICKET paper in stock now over at Hope Stamps Eternal. Oh, be still my little heart. Rach has all 4 lines and even some coordinating chipboard!

Verve Sneak Peeks -Day 3!

Hi everyone! As you may know, it's release week for Verve and boy oh boy the Verve Sneak Peeks are if full effect and STUNNING! Check out all the Sneak Peek Verve-y goodness over at the Verve Stamps blog.

AND I have my very own Giveaway thread over in the SCS Verve Forum! It's a fun game that is wildly popular (18 pages at post time). Up for grabs for one lucky winner is $25 credit at the Verve Store!

I have a couple cards to share with you today. This first card used the set Budding blossoms and one of Julee's release party sketches, AVS204. I just got some new papers by Marks Paper Co, English Garden and loved the soft green and blue colors and had to use them with this card.

I stamped the flower blooms in Bashful Blue and the stems in Certainly Celery. Instead of coloring in the blooms, I filled them with Stardust Stickles. For the side panel, I carefully lined up my Upper Crest border punch and punched it with the 2 pointy things centered (is "pointy things" a proper term? LOL!) and added green pearls to each. I then did some light sponging and added Denim pearls to the blooms and bow.

Next up I have a bright bold fun birthday card using the Party Time set. Again, I used one of Julee's release sketches, this time I chose AVS202.

I wanted to make something colorful, so I pulled out the retired SU Jersey Shore DP and went with the colors of Brilliant and Bashful blue and pumpkin pie. The balloons are colored with Copic markers and popped up. The bow at the bottom is a ribbon scrap that I pinched into a brad. The two side panels each have a tiny silver pearl (from Michael's) as well as each corner.

Well that's it for today. Stay tuned, tomorrow is the last day of peeks and the RELEASE PARTY!! Everyone is invited to join for fun, chatting, more peeks and prizes! Thanks for stopping by!

OK, I should have been making cards, but...

...look what I did this morning!!! I picked blackberries with my friend and boys. I was born and raised in Oregon and let me tell ya, I can pick me some blackberries! August is THE month around these parts!

For those of you who are new to pickin' blackberries, here are some tips:

1. Bring a 2x8 board at least 4 feet long, this allows you to reach the berries at the top of the bush. You lay it down and climb up on it!
2. Wear long sleeves and long pants -even in HOT weather. There are so many thorns on these bushes you will tear your arms and legs apart otherwise.
3. When you see a bunch of berries on a branch, grab the greenest berry and use that to pull the branch to your container. There are no thorns on it and since it's green it won't come off easily and it will give you time to clear out all the black ones off the bunch.
4. Pick your berries into containers that are relatively flat. That way the weight of the berries on top won't crush the bottom ones too badly.
5. Bring a toy of some sort for the youngest to play with. After the novelty of "helping mom" wears off they will get bored and WHINE until you get back to the car.

and last but not least...
6. DON'T put your full berry container on an ANT HILL! Those little buggars are hard to shake off in the middle of nowhere!

Now on to what I should have been doing today!!

Featured stamper -Joanne and a new Raspberry Suite challenge

Hi everyone, I have a second post today. Well, it's nearly 11pm, so it's almost not today anymore -LOL! This will be short cause I am sooo sleepy!

This card is a double challenge card. This week's featured stamper is my former DDC gal -Joanne AKA Sleepyinseattle!! I am so thrilled for Joanne! She is super talented and a sweetheart. Congrats Joanne, enjoy your day! I chose this card to case. I changed up the colors and the image and the scalloped panels a bit. But I kept with her bright colors and amazing shape and layering!

I used the colors from Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge #14-to use Plum Pudding, Raspberry Fizz, cream and Burgundy. To my surprise, my felt flowers from Zva Creative all matched it perfectly!! I used Verve's Petals and Stems set for the stems and the Black Tie Birdies for the sentiment.

BIG news everyone!!! This week celebrates Verve Stamps 2 year anniversary release. Seriously, there are some FUN stuff going on. Every day the Divas will be hosting a GIVEAWAY and Julee out did herself with sketches to play along with everything culminating at the RELEASE PARTY this Friday evening!

Cupcake Inspiration challenge 19

Hi Everyone! It's Sunday and time for another delicious cupcake inspiration challenge. Check out the yumminess this week...

For my inspiration, I used the colors of the rainbow and the cutie patootie yellow flowers. I used my Sleepy Owl image from Inkadinkado and paired it with some PTI colors of Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet. I used copic markers to color Sleepy Owl with and I tried to mimic the rainbow feel in his coloring. The little felt flower at the bottom is from Zva Creative.

Everyone is invited to play along!! If you do, be sure to link your creation to Mr. Linky on the HSE blog. Every week, Rach highlighs the top 5!! And if you upload to SCS or PCP, be sure to use keyword: CIC19.

Three challenge cards to share

Hi everyone! I have several challenge cards to share. First up, today's SCS color challenge. We were challenged to use Cocoa, Coral, Celery, Blush and White. Love these together!! For my layout I used Taylored Expression's sketch #76. I used an image and sentiment from the much loved Unity's June KOM, Perfect in Every Way. That teapot is my FAVORITE!! I pieced it with a scrap of PTI DP. Oh and see that border? I bought the border punch today, it's Upper Crest from EK Success -got it at 40% off! The sentiment is embossed with white EP.
Next up is also a combined challenge. This month, Cath challenged us to a Bag Lady challenge -an inspiration challenge of several hand bags. I was drawn to the colors and crocheted flowers on this bag.

This time I went with the fun tree from Unity's Tiny Giggle Grove and the sentiment is from the June's KOM. I kept with the yellow center theme and added a yellow brad to each branch end. I just sort of played around until I found a combination of circles/flowers/brads/ribbons and button I liked. The layout is from a sketch challenge new to me. Karen from The Sweetest Thing has a Sweet Sunday sketch. This layout follows last week's sketch #28. I was drawn to all the circles!!

And last, but NOT least is this week's Featured Stamper challenge. This week we honored the very sweet and talented, Teresa (va.sunshine)!! Check out her gallery, this girl has it going on!!

I chose this card to case. I LOVED the colors and pattern papers she used on this card!! Seriously, my card didn't do it justice AT ALL, but I loved the bright colors of my ribbon and it sorta took me in this direction. I hope it puts a smile on her face!

The flower stem is from my new love, SU's Tiny Leaves sizzlits die, the felt flower is from Ebay and the pattern paper is from PTI Bitty Squares. The button, pink burlap string and Oregon Raindrops are from my girl, Heidi at Pinkhedgehog papercrafts.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card Deets (color):
Stamps: perfect in every way
