CPS sketch baby boy card using Dawn's colors

Hi everyone! Here is a quick card to share. You all know my love of sketch challenges, this card is for the CPS113 challenge! It also uses the color combo from Dawn's Raspberry Suite challenge -light aqua, brown and white. Perfect for a little boy card, don't you think?

The DP is from DCWV Nana's Nursery boy matstack and the chipboard piece is from the Chipboard Shapes and Letters box. Found it on sale -woot woot! The sentiment is from Verve's Practically Perfect set and the buttons are from Pinkhedgehog Papercrafts.

I want to give a big shout out to the wonderful generous girls from the SCS WishRAK! I don't have the Top Note die cut from SU!, but thru that forum I am able to have a small stash to use. It's seriously my favorite -I may have to break down and spend the $25!!

Thanks for stopping by and again, check in tomorrow for a special pre-sale at Jacksonbelle Embellishments!!

Card Deets:
Stamps - Practically Perfect
Paper - white, choc brown (both PTI), Nana's nursery boy (DCWV)
Accessories - chipboard onesie, buttons, ribbon scraps, rectangle nesties, sponge

A set inspired by a card!

Hi everyone! Remember this card from last week's Sketch challenge? I liked it so much that I made a coordinating set of cards using it as my inspiration! I used some of the weekly blog sketches for the layouts, but BAD ME didn't write any of them down, so I can't identify them for you. Sorry!

All the cards use Basic Grey Porcelain DP and either the Peaches image or Verve. The framing cardstock is from Prism Papers. I just love this cardstock because they have a touch of texture and come with 3 coordinating shades in each color!!

This one uses Verve's Floral Whimsy set. I pieced the vase and there are small pearls on the large blooms.

This card uses Verve's Miracles Blossom. It's colored with Copics and have brads in the centers of the blooms.

This is that gorgeous Peaches image paired with the great gold edged ribbon! It's hard to see, but the accents on the bottom right are gold pearls from Michael's.

Some fun stuff to mention:
The Verve Project Parade is going on right now! This month's theme is Celebrating Women! Be sure to check it out on the Verve Stamps blog, there are some really amazing project the Divas have made for you. As usual, there are lots of prizes!!

Stay tuned cause tomorrow I will be announcing a great presale going on at Jacksonbelle Embellishments -Lindsey will be doing a presale for a great product handmade by a fellow stamper!! Come back tomorrow for all the details!!

Believe me, this will cure all that ails you!

Hahaha! I'm just playing around with this card!

It's for my final Hanna Monday post wrapping up my guest designer spot from Hanna Stamps. Scroll down for my JBelle challenge card for a brief description of my day yesterday, to see why I am a day late!

Anyway, I have had this idea for a "doctor" card for some time now. I rarely do funny-type cards, but this one I couldn't resist! I printed off the picture of Rob from my computer and generated the sentiment from the computer as well. The doctor is from the new Hospital Hanna set, is colored with copics, and cut out. The DP (blue pattern and the woodgrain) is October Afternoon from the Night Light line.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card Deets:
Stamps: Hospital hanna
Paper: Dark chocolate and white from PTI, Not quite navy, Night Light DP
Ink: rich cocoa Memento
Accessories: copics

The challenge card that wasn't!

Today's Jacksonbelle Embellishment Tuesday challenge was Anything But... to make a card that is anything but a rectangle.

Well, as you can see my card isn't square like it was supposed to be! Maybe if you open your eyes really wide while looking at it, it may appear slightly stretched... no? Unfortunately, my card the result of being distracted by the kiddos THREE times while making it. Let's see, first we had a fight in the garage over the tricycles resulting in a split lip. Then we had a bathroom disaster (I'll spare you the details), I don't even remember what the last thing was, I just remember being very worn out and confused at the end of it all!

But, alas a card was made! My sister asked me to make a motorcycle birthday card for her friend. I used a motorcycle image I bought off EBay a long time ago. All the DP is by Fancy Pants, About a Boy, and I finally used a transparency! It is also from Fancy Pants and is called Fresh and Funky and is on sale right now for $1.30!!

I have always been SKERD to use these little buggars, but thought I would give it a try. They are not that bad. I lined up what I wanted to show over the motorcycle (in this case the little stars) and carefully trimmed (I used my regular paper cutter). I attached it with glue dots and then covered them up with the Dew Drops, from the Men's Bottle. I used a tiny piece from the scraps for the tag too! The sentiment is by Repeat Impressions and the fabulous burlap string is from Pinkhedgehog Papercrafts. I followed Jen's Sketch for You to Try for the layout.

We'd love to have you play along and if you do, be sure to use keyword JBE051 when you upload your card so we can find all your NON-rectangle cards in one place. Don't forget to check out the other DT blogs for their cards!

SC225 and CPS112 cards

Hi everyone! I have a couple challenge cards to share today. This first card is for this week's SCS sketch challenge. I rather like this sketch, love the symetrical yet off set bg panels! I chose to use my brand new Peaches stamp from Repeat Impressions.

I LOVE this image, but have to confess I had NO CLUE how to color a peach. Love this little guy, BUT I have to confess I had no clue how to color it. Thank you to Mr Google! I found lots of pictures online and this is was my first try -so be kind! I colored it with Copic markers and then painted it with Gold Shimmerz. The DP is Basic Grey Porcelain -isn't it a perfect match with the peach tones? I left off the sentiment, cause I am torn between using this as a thank you or a birthday card!

Whew! This card is a triple challenge card! I used the sketch for this week's CPS sketch, last week's DoubleDog Dare challenge to make a black/red/white card and this week's CAS challenge to use some kid's bedding from JC Penny.

I chose Crazy Ladybug Quilt bedding, it fit right into the colors I had to use.I used Martha Stewart's ladybug punch and a mini flower punch for the card. The doodles are hand drawn and there are 2 scored lines above and below the image panel. The sentiment is from Verve's Circular Sayings set.

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. I updated my Robward picture!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge

Hi everyone, today's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Jacksonbelle challenge! This week is a fun one!

We were challenged to a 1,2,3 recipe:
1 stamp
2 embellishments
3 layers.

Like always, you don't need to have JBelle supplies to play, but if you don't have any, you can check out the store and see if anything strikes your fancy.

Since I could only have 1 stamp, I decided to make the focal image an embellishment and use the stamp for a sentiment. I had so much fun with this recipe I made TWO! This first one uses Wild Wasabi card base (that's 1), a layer of white which I ran the top thru the CB with Swiss Dots (that's 2), and the lower portion is a piece of Imaginisce DP from the Fairest of Them All line (that makes 3!!). The Prima flower portion is 1 and the ribbon makes 2 embellishments (OK, on this one I stretched it, cause the brad is technically separate from the flower!) and the 1 stamp is the HB sentiment from Repeat Impressions.

The second card uses a fancy schmancy flower from Prima from their Hybrid floral embellishments, Lindsey is currently out of stock of these, but if you are interested send her an email and she can order them for you!! I used the same layout as the first card. The DP is from Memory Box, Sprout line. The ribbons are 1 and the flower is 2 embellishments, and 1 stamp is the TY sentiment from Repeat Impressions.

We'd love to have you play along and if you do, be sure to use keyword JBE050 when you upload your card so we can find all the sketch cards in one place. Don't forget to check out the other DT blogs for their cards!

Verve sneak peeks Day Two and sketch challenge card

Holy smokes, another post from me today! Woohoo, I have been BUSY this week. Today is Day Two of Verve sneak peeks. Have you hopped on over to the Verve blog and checked them out? There are some fun ways to win some VERVE!! You can leave a comment on the daily posts and/or participate in the Release Week Challenges.

The set we are peeking today is called Wishful Elegance. This is my favorite set of the release. I love the flower designs in this set!! L O V E them! I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut them out, colored with Copics, then applied some Art Glitter to the small petals. The portion on the bottom of the Top Note piece is the background stamp of the set stamped in black and colored with the same markers to coordinate. Kinda like creating your own DP! AND see that bow? I have discovered silk ribbon! It's my new love -it makes such lovely bows and is super easy to work with. I got this purple color and several others (one on my Mother's Day card from yesterday's peek) from Sharon's store, Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

The Verve April release party is Friday the 17th at 6pm Pacific. The release party thread is here. And please welcome our guest Diva this month, the lovely and talented Teresa (VA.Sunshine)!!

This card is for today's SCS sketch challenge. What a fun and simple little sketch. And, bonus, it was inspired by this cute card from my friend, Krystie Lee!!

This card uses some of my new goodies from my GF Rachel's store, Hope Stamps Eternal !! I am so lovin' this amazing Sweetbay DP from Memory Box -the colors are soft and the prints are KA-UTE! Then I embellished it with some Eva Creative rhinestones -where HAVE these been all my life? LOL! The sentiment is from Flourishes, Many Sentiments.

This card is heading out to my supah stamping BFF -won't say her name in case she hasn't figured out it's for her! LOL!

Card deets (Verve):
Stamps: Wishful Elegance
Paper: white, black
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)

One year ago today...

...I got a PM from Jenn Balcer of SCS asking me to be on the SCS Dirty Dozen design team! To say I was in shock was a total understatement. The Dirty Dozen designers were my stamping idols and I couldn't believe Jenn thought I belonged among them! My "reveal" was on May 15th and my final gallery contribution was November 15th. What an amazing experience those 6 months were and I can hardly believe a year has passed! Thank you Jenn for having the confidence in me! My Dirty Dozen "roomie" (meaning the gal entering the DD with me) is the incomparable Joan Ervin! What a pleasure getting to know this amazing and talented lady -hugs to ya Roomie!

So, to honor my time with the Dirty Dozen, I thought on the 15th for the next 6 months, I would share with you a couple cards from each monthly theme. These first cards are from my first month as a Dirty Girl. The theme was "This One's For the Boys" -what a perfect first month theme for me! I love making masculine cards!! Please note, you need to be a SCS Fan Club member to access these links. If you aren't a fan club member, you can check out the deets here.

This first card is for the boy all grown up! Boys and their toys, right?!? This motorcycle image is from an unknown unmounted stamp I bought from Ebay. The DP is a carefully trimmed piece of SU! Wanted. I wanted to use the corner star to match up with my punched out stars. The sentiment is from a Harley Davidson sticker pack.

Each month I tried to do a 3-d project of some kind (which was a challenge -I am a card-only kinda girl!). This month I did a picture frame for my Aunt. Some of you know that my cousin is in the Army stationed in Afghanistan back then (and still is!).

I painted the frame with dark brown acrylic paint, then covered the bottom portion with mod podge. I cut up my camouflage DP and pasted it on. I then covered the edges, both outside and inside with twill ribbon (to hide the uneveness). The silver metal rings say integrity and discipline respectively, and I tucked them onto the twill ribbon knot. The eagle image is from The Free and The Brave set and is colored with prismacolor pencils then sponged with distressed ink. Some of the stars are stamped tone on tone with the Sanded BG. That handsome soldier is my cousin, and I am pretty sure he would die of embarrassment if he knew it was in this picture and I was showing it AGAIN!

The 15th of every month we say welcome in 2 new designers to the Dirty Dozen and say goodbye to 2. This month the theme is Going Green and be sure to welcome Heather (inglishrea) and Bonnie (Eggette) be sure to stop by and give the gallery and the new girls some love!

Card deets (motorcycle):
Stamps: unknown motorcycle
Paper: black, sahara sand, basic gray, really rust, whisper white, Wanted
Ink: black, sahara sand, really rust
Accessories: large and small SU star punch, jumbo eyelets, pewter brad, sentiment sticker from Harley Davidson, dimensionals, sponge

A Verve sneak peek Day One and a CAS card

Hi everyone! It's Day One of Verve sneak peeks! Today we are peeking the Plain Janes. This month, Julee is releasing four new Plain Janes -woohoo. In case you are not familiar with Plain Janes, they are single stamps and often coordinate with released sets!

This card uses Mother's Day Plain Jane. I LOVE that the sentiment is large enough to be the focal point of the card. AND, check out the flower on "O" in Mother -recognize it from the from Grateful Elegance set? Yep, that gorgeous 6-petal flower has made a come back this release! I loved that flower and am thrilled to see it in a BIG way (hint hint)!! I made this card with some cheerful bold bright paper and flowers! This one is earmarked for Bill's mom. He claimed it right away. It is SOOOO her style! Over on the Verve Blog, you can check out all the Plain Jane peeks -even another card from me!

This next card is a triple challenge card! It is for this week's Clean and Simple challenge -to use monotone colors, I chose pinks. It also is for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge -to have piercing on your card. Finally, it follows this weeks CPS card sketch, CPS111. I am new to these sketches, but hey, you can never have enough sketches to follow, especially if you are like me and can't design one to save my life!

The stamp is from Flourishes, Summer Blossoms set. I LOVE the elegant stems and blooms in this set!! The DP is the retired Pink DSP and the butterflies are punched from a small Marvy punch.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned tomorrow for Day Two of Verve's sneak peeks and my sketch challenge card!!

JBelle challenge -a sketch

Hi everyone! Today is Tuesday and that means another Jbelle challenge! This week's challenge is everyone's favorite, a sketch! Like always, you don't need to have JBelle supplies to play, but if you don't have any, you can check out the store and see what strikes your fancy.

My card uses the super fun Vehicles felt from Queen and Co. This stuff comes in a yard long strip and you can use it as a border or cut out the pieces. It is self adhesive and warning -very sticky! Be sure you know where you are placing it cause you can't move it once it's down!! The super cute paper is October Afternoon from their Night Light line the Jack and Henry pieces. OA paper is double sided, so you can use both sides coordinate without thinking about it! I also used a Top Note die cut piece which I got thru SCS WishRAK (gotta love that group) and some hemp twine from my LSS.

We'd love to have you play along and if you do, be sure to use keyword JBE049 when you upload your card so we can find all the sketch cards in one place. Don't forget to check out the other DT blogs for their cards!

Hanna Monday

Happy Monday everyone! I rarely post on Mondays, cause I am usually creating a card for both the CAS challenge my Tuesday JBelle challenge. But this month, I am the guest designer for Hanna Stamps and thought it would be fun to post some Hanna cards on each Monday - It's a Hanna Monday! (yeah -that song Manic Monday has been in my head all day!).

This first card is one using Perfume Sophie. Ahhhh... isn't she the cutest!?! I used some of my FAV Basic Grey dp (well, fav for right now!), Urban Prairie and some of the Basic Grey jumbo brads (from the Bittersweet pack). The layout has lots of dimension and lots of scallops, which is just perfect for Sophie getting all dolled up!

This next card uses the Hospital Hanna set. I went with some subtle Basic Grey paper from the Phoebe pack and kept things in the blue tones with just a touch of pink. This card is for Nurses Day! Very simple, just some straight panels with lots of primas. All the organdy and satin ribbon are from Heidi's store. Both Nurse Hanna and Sophie were colored with Copic Markers.

These cards are also for the Copic Creations challenge #1 which is to color skin tones. I used Skin White (E00) for Hanna and Caribe Cocoa (E25) and Sand (E33) for Sophie.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check in tomorrow to see my Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge card.

Card deets:
Stamps - Perfume Sophie
Paper - cool caribbean, BG Urban Prairie

Some challenge cards to share -one for you Twilight fans!!

Hi everyone! I have 3 challenge cards to share. This first one is from yesterday's SCS color challenge -to use Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa and So Saffron. These are such a soft color combo and a perfect match to the SAB paper pack, Delicate Dots.

For this card I used the daffodil from Flourishes Signs of Spring set. It is so pretty and suprisingly easy to color. It's hard to tell in the pic, but I have the center part of the flower popped up on dimensionals and there is stickles all over it. The layout caught my eye as I was browsing thru my gallery. I cased it from this card. The sentiment is Verve's Circular Sayings and the dotted organdy ribbon is from Heidi's store, Pinkhedgehog Papercrafts.

This next card was a SUPER fun card to make!! It is for this week's SCS sketch challenge and feature's mt main vampire, Edward!!

My mom has the boys for a couple days so I have some time to play around! This card is for all the Twihards out there! The hardest part was cutting into my magazine to get this little picture -LOL! The stamp is a discontinued stamp from Unity Stamps. I, for one, think Angela needs to be talked into making more!!

For this, I decided to keep with the black/white/red theme after all, Edward is a Vampire -LOL! Isn't he lovely surrounded by the red heart bling and flowers? Ahhhh...

The last card for today is a double Flourishes challenge card. The first challenge is the Timeless Tuesday challenge, hosted this week by my GF, Silke. It is to make a card using your favorite Flourishes set. I chose Coffee With Friends -this was my first and still favorite set! The second challenge is Flourishes April challenge to use paper piecing. All the challenge info can be found in the Flourishes Forum.

The DP is from the Garden Party matstack by DCWV. Love this paper pack! These DCWV packs are so much fun, cause 1, you can get them 40% off with a coupon and 2, there are 3 pages of each design. So, I took an extra page and cut out the butterfly and the flowers and popped them up! The sentiment is from Flourishes, Many Sentiments. And I finally used my new SU punch that matches those bookplates from the HPH tin!

Thanks for stopping by!
